In my opinion this was miles better than the first game in many aspects. Although both games have an amazing atmosphere, the sequel took me by surprise with its amazing combat, music, exploration and better bosses. Truly recommend this masterpiece of a metroidvania.

It's really sad that on the way to better graphics (which wasn't necessary) and gameplay (which is subjective in many ways) the game lost its soul. It's still a good game nonetheless, and under different circumstances I would have given it a thumbs up.
