Absolutely fantastic game, most detailed city sim in existence as far as I am aware. Extremely difficult/complex if that's what you're into, but there's many difficulty options if you wish to take it a bit more casually. One of the greatest games I've ever played.

Upgrading from mud roads to gravel roads feels like a colossal achievement. (on the easiest difficulty)

Has a lot of things lacking in other city builders. Building your own buildings instead of just buying them has to be the singlemost satisfying mechanic. You can choose between casual play and realistic (which forces you to plan way ahead when setting up new settlements).
